Introduction

The integration of technology into education and therapy has revolutionized how we support individuals with disabilities. Digital tools, particularly electronic games, have shown great potential in fostering skill development in an engaging and interactive manner. However, many existing games lack accessibility features, making them difficult or impossible for individuals with motor disabilities to play. This project addresses this gap by developing “HelloNa,” an accessible electronic game designed specifically to support individuals with motor disabilities.

“HelloNa” (derived from the Greek word for turtle, “χελώνα”) is a Java-based electronic game designed to promote motor and cognitive skills while providing an entertaining experience. The game challenges players to guide a turtle character through a maze to reach its food, avoiding obstacles and walls along the way. By offering simple, customizable controls and an intuitive interface, “HelloNa” aims to be accessible to players with varying levels of physical ability.
